Water Line Replacement is in Full Swing

If you have not noticed spring has sprung here in the Village. Which means that the DPW is already hard at work digging up water lines for replacement. For the past few summers the Department of Public works has been working with Hydro-X out of Syracuse to dig up curb valves to discover which pipes in the Village are not copper. That discovery was concluded last fall. With the knowledge gained from that discovery, the DPW has moved forward with replacing the lines that are located on the street side that are known to be non-copper.

The work being done so far is on East Upland and The Parkway. There will be some road closures and you may notice your water is discolored, if you live near this area. If this is the case we suggested flushing your toilets several times and running water throughout your home for a time. If you have further questions contact Aaron Cowder, Assistant Superintendent of Public works at [email protected].
