Tuesday May 12th, the Cayuga Heights Fire Department had the Davis-Ulmer Fire Protection mobile fire sprinkler training lab at the station for an outstanding hands-on training opportunity.
Twelve members of the department spent over two hours participating in both classroom instruction and practical evolutions inside the training trailer. The mobile lab is equipped with multiple fire alarm system demonstrations as well as six different examples of fire sprinkler control systems, allowing firefighters to gain real-world experience working directly with the equipment.
During the training, members activated systems, identified water flow conditions, and practiced controlling sprinkler system operations. This type of hands-on experience is extremely valuable and helps firefighters better understand the systems they encounter during emergencies and inspections.
It was great to see so many members take time out of their busy schedules to attend a daytime training session. Trainings like this continue to improve operational readiness while enhancing firefighter and community safety.
We would like to sincerely thank Davis-Ulmer for providing this excellent training opportunity. Fire alarm and sprinkler systems save lives every day and having a strong understanding of how these systems operate helps ensure the safety of both firefighters and the people we are there to help.
